Back Loaders

The Caterpillar 422E backhoe loader was manufactured from 2006 to 2016. The Cat 422E drivetrain consists of Caterpillar 3054C DINA 4-stroke 4-cylinder liquid cooled diesel engine, and 4×4 Power Shuttle transmission with full synchromesh gearbox and single-stage torque converter.

A 268 cu.in (4.4L) engine has a cylinder bore of 4.13″ (105 mm), piston stroke of 5″ (127 mm), rated power of 75 hp (56 kW), and maximum torque of 386 Nm (285 lb-ft) at 1400 rpm. The maximum travel speed (forward or reverse): 24.8 mph (40 km/h).

The closed center load sensing hydraulic system used a variable displacement piston pump with a flow of 33.1 gal/min (125 l/min). The hydraulic system pressure is 227 bar (3292 psi). The Caterpillar 422E is fitted with 12.5/80×18 or 340/80R18 (Radial) front tires and 16.9×28 or 16.9R28 (Radial) rear tires. The wheel base is 87 in (2200 mm).
